Andrzej Sapkowski has confirmed he's working on another Witcher book, with plans to finish it by the end of 2027. The author revealed the news at a recent convention appearance in Poland, and said Geralt will once again take the lead role.
Sapkowski has ruled out writing Witcher stories centered on other characters like Yennefer, keeping his focus on the white-haired monster hunter. The last book, 2025's Crossroads of Ravens, was a prequel following young Geralt's early days as a Witcher, and he's left plenty of room to explore more of the character's formative years if he chooses.
Polish readers could see the new book by late 2027 or early 2028 if the schedule holds. International releases typically arrive about a year after the Polish edition, meaning English-speaking fans might not get their hands on it until 2028 or 2029. Sapkowski also hinted he's considering writing more short stories in the universe, though he noted that format is trickier than novel writing.
This comes as the herd waits for The Witcher 4 in 2028, alongside the Witcher 3 remaster and Songs of the Past expansion already in the pipeline.
