GTA 6 might not make PC players wait all that long after all. A new report from GamesBeat claims Rockstar is targeting Q1 2027 for the PC version, citing four unnamed industry sources.

GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19th, so if this report holds up, PC gamers would be looking at somewhere between two and five months of console exclusivity. Rockstar hasn't confirmed any of this, and a representative didn't respond to GamesBeat's request for comment, so treat it as a rumor for now rather than a locked-in date.

That gap would be a huge change of pace for Rockstar. GTA 5's PC version didn't show up until roughly a year and a half after console launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2 made PC players wait over a year as well. A faster turnaround this time would line up with Twitch CEO Dan Clancy's earlier comments that GTA 6's online multiplayer is being lined up for a 2027 launch, which gives Rockstar a pretty obvious reason to get the PC audience in the door sooner rather than later.

Worth noting too: this all comes while a leaker known as CyberLeek has reportedly been sitting on a playable build of the game, enough to push Rockstar into issuing a formal statement and allegedly trying to subpoena Discord. If Rockstar really is eyeing a quicker PC release, maybe it's less generosity and more damage control.
