Hawks, the leader of Bit Reactor's Star Wars Zero Company, sounds like he's from Texas, and that's no accident. Voice actor Jonathan Freeman told Polygon that his own Texas accent tends to creep into the performance when he's comfortable in the role.

Freeman voiced the male Hawks, and the accent fits a character he describes as a weathered veteran who was scapegoated after a lost battle. The game also lets players customize Hawks' species, and Freeman says even a Twi'lek or Mirialan Hawks ends up with the same twang.

The drawl also produced a bit of Star Wars slang. When Hawks is infected with the Shadow Plague and asks how he's feeling, Freeman pitched the writers on Texan sayings, and they came back with a list of Star Wars versions. The final line became "It feels like the inside of a mynock's suckhole, Pops."

Honestly, a Star Wars game with a mynock joke that a real cowboy would be proud of is the kind of detail the herd should love.
