Night City is heading to the big screen. CD Projekt Red has confirmed a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 film is in development, with Paramount Pictures attached as the studio partner.

The news first broke via Deadline, which reported that producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura (the Transformers films, plus a hand in bringing The Matrix and Harry Potter to Warner Bros.) is attached to the project. CD Projekt Red hadn't said much beyond acknowledging the report until joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski weighed in directly.

We're excited about Paramount as a future partner who shares our creative ambitions for the Cyberpunk franchise. We look forward to sharing more details at the appropriate time.

No story details, cast, or timeline yet, so the big question marks remain wide open. Does the film tell a version of the 2077 game's story, and does anyone even attempt to fill Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand boots?

This tracks with CD Projekt Red's growing comfort with adaptations: Edgerunners has been a genuine hit on Netflix, with its second season landing this month, and the studio has openly called sitting out The Witcher's Netflix series a missed opportunity. Meanwhile, Cyberpunk 2 keeps quietly growing its dev team in the background, so the herd's got two Night City projects to keep an eye on now.
