Bulkhead, the studio behind Wardogs, is taking the whole month of December off, and it wants you to take a break too. The pitch is blunt: go play GTA 6, because the team needs a detox.
The timing makes sense. Wardogs, a sandbox multiplayer shooter in Early Access on PC, has seen a steady stream of balance patches, hotfixes and updates since launch, and its Season 2 launch didn't go as well as the studio hoped. The pause gives the team room to recharge before the road to 1.0.
CEO Joe Brammer, speaking to Edge via GamesRadar, described a team that has been stretched thin. "Everyone wears multiple hats," he said, and at a small studio that's less a figure of speech than a job description.
Most publishers are quietly shuffling release dates around GTA 6, which lands November 19 on PS5 and Xbox. Bulkhead just said the quiet part out loud, and that's a refreshing bit of honesty in a month where everyone else is hoping nobody notices the elephant in the room.
