The Elder Scrolls 6 may be called Sentinel, according to a new report from The Verge. The subtitle has been floating around for a while, but this is the first time the outlet has put real weight behind it.

The game is said to be set in Hammerfell, and it reportedly digs into the history of the titular artifacts, letting players uncover their secrets firsthand. That's the kind of detail that suggests the project is moving toward the finish line.

Timing is the other piece. The Verge suggests an announcement could land as soon as next month, possibly tied to Skyrim's 15th anniversary or Xbox's 25th. Bethesda hasn't confirmed any of it, so treat the subtitle as a strong rumor until then.

Bethesda first announced the game in 2018, so the herd has been waiting a long time for a name. Bethesda also tends to hold back gameplay until a game is close to launch, so don't expect a deep look just yet. A title would still be a welcome start.
