Albion Online

Albion Online is a free-to-play sandbox MMORPG set in a medieval fantasy world inspired by Arthurian legends. The game uses a classless system where a player's equipped gear determines their abilities and playstyle. Items span eight tiers and are entirely player-crafted, forming a fully player-driven economy. The open world features zones with varying levels of PvP risk, from safe areas to full-loot zones where defeated players lose their equipment. Players can join guilds of up to 300 members to fight over territories and castles in large-scale battles. The game also offers PvE combat and various gathering and crafting activities.

Story

Long ago, the continent of Albion was a primordial land ruled by immortal dragons. To save the world from tyranny, an alliance of ancient human tribes, giants, and beasts—known as the Keepers—used powerful druidic rituals to force the dragons into an eternal slumber. Centuries later, a legendary druid named Merlyn sought to unite the tribes against future threats, enlisting the help of the powerful witch Morgana. However, their alliance shattered, leading to a catastrophic civil war between Arthur's knights and Morgana's demonic cultists. The war ended in a massive cataclysm that cloaked the entire continent of Albion in an impenetrable magical mist, cutting it off from the rest of the world for a millennium. In the present day, the protective mists have finally faded, revealing Albion to the outside world. Across the sea, the King of the Old World—a war-torn nation facing severe resource shortages—sends the Royal Expeditionary Forces to colonize the land. They are followed by a massive wave of outcasts, criminals, and independent adventurers looking to forge a new life. Players arrive on these shores as penniless colonists, thrust directly into a lawless land where they must survive against hostile factions, including the primitive Heretics, the cultist Disciples of Morgana, the protective Keepers, and the ancient, magic-wielding Avalonians who have emerged from their crystal cities to reclaim the continent.
